Disqualified from the Longest Lap at the Revolution Series in London a fortnight ago, you'd have been forgiven for thinking Geraint Thomas would have had a point to prove when he got back on the boards in the latest round at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on Saturday night though.
But returning to the city where he won Commonwealth Games gold in the road race last year, the Team Sky rider had other ideas, as you'll see in this video of the race ...
Four of the five men's elite championship events on the evening were won by riders from Team Wiggins, Owain Doull winning the points race from Andy Tennant - although the latter was guesting for series leaders team Pedalsure this weekend.
Doull, aiming for a spot in the team pursuit at the Rio Olympics next year, said he and his team mates enjoyed “a bit of an advantage given that we have access to the track quite a lot in Manchester.
"With the World [Track Championships] only a few months away we’re all in really good shape, which definitely helps.”
Regarding lining up against Tennant, he added: “Throughout the year you race with them as a team, so it’s different to race against them but it’s nice.
"We’re all doing so well being on the track squad so it’s a good laugh.”
Double Olympic champion Laura Trott, who won the points race on this track at the Commonwealth Games, was victorious in that race this weekend as she dominated the women's racing, also winning the elimination and scratch races.
Two rounds remain now, both in Manchester, on 2 and 23 January, and both will be shown live on Eurosport.
