Man rides bike ... balancing 34kg millstone on head (+ link to video)

Rider becomes internet sensation in China as video goes viral

A cyclist has become an internet sensation in China after he was filmed riding his bike with a millstone weighing 34 kilograms balanced on his head, with the video going viral through social media.

For the past 13 years Zhang Xunmu, 52, has perched the heavy stone on his head while going for his daily 10 kilometre bike ride in Wuhang in Hubei province reports GB Times, which has a video report here.

He reportedly became fascinated with the idea of balancing the millstone on his head while riding after finding it abandoned at the roadside, and says it hasn't fallen off in years – although it has caused him a bald patch on his head.

Sometimes he adds other rocks weighing as much as an additional 25 kilograms – that's a combined weight that is 2 kilograms more than Katusha rider Joaquim Rodiguez, who tips the scales at 57 kilograms.

According to GB Times, another cyclist in China, Zhou Jianbiao of Jiangxi province, rides 20 kilometres each day while balancing 45 kg of tofu on his head; it did not report why.

Last year, we featured a video of a man in Brazil spotted riding with a gas canister and a watermelon on his head.
