The DealCatcher's here to close out February in style with three fantastic deals on cycling gear from three top online retailers.
Chain Reaction Cycles get proceedings underway with a huge 40% discount on their range of entry level Vitus Bikes Razor road bikes.
Following Chain Reaction are our French favourites Decathlon. The retailers, who started life across the channel, have slashed the prices of some of their beloved BTwin range, including these 3/4 length Aerofit bib shorts.
Finally, Vanilla Bikes have sliced almost a quarter of the price off of their range of Lusso Giro Rain Jackets. We reviewed these Lusso jackets back in October, our review number walked away with an exemplary 8/10.
Chain Reaction Cycles
First up is Vitus Bikes' Razor. Here you've got an entry level, insanely affordable, all-round road bike that's as at home on daily commutes as it is on long winter rides.
For your money you'll be getting a fantastic lightweight 6061-T6 aluminium alloy frame with a carbon fork, Shimano's entry level Claris groupset, and Vitus' own alloy wheelset.
The whole ensemble weighs in at 9.61kg, which is pretty reasonable for a bike at this price.
Decathlon
Decathlon's in-house BTwin brand is famous for its low prices and high quality. So, when the prices are even lower than they usually are, it's time to take notice.
These Aerofit 700 3/4 Bib Shorts are the perfect half way house between winter leg wear and summer leg wear - which is handy, because we're quickly approaching spring.
The shorts feature a pad with a gel insert, aerodynamic design, and flat seams.
We've reviewed BTwin 700 cycling shorts before - not of the Aerofit or 3/4 length variety - but 700 shorts nonetheless. The bonus that the Aerofit's have is that they've been developed with the professional FDJ cycling team.
Vanilla Bikes
Though we were looking forward to better weather in the description of the BTwin shorts above, it's worth us all remembering where we're based.
It rains in the UK. A lot. Spring won't stop the rain; summer probably won't either. With that in mind, now is as good of a time as any to invest in some rain gear, and where better to look than in a jacket that's recently been given an 8/10 on road.cc.
This Lusso Giro Rain Jacket came in for test towards the end of 2015. Our man Neil Gander was charged with the investigation into the jacket's pros and cons, and he came out saying that its pros heavily outweighed its cons.
He said that the "Lusso Giro Rain Jacket is actually one of the many shower-resistant, windproof jackets out there that have made themselves indispensable for UK road riders."
Exactly! With the added bonus of the manhole cover as scrap.
Funny how the BBC reports money for roads being spent on AT, but never reports that money for AT is spent on roads....
