Witness appeal after cyclist killed on Anglesey

Fatal crash happened at Trefor near Holyhead this morning

Police are calling for witnesses after a cyclist was killed following a collision involving a car on Anglesey  this morning.

Sergeant Ray Williams from the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: “Shortly after 7.40am this morning North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on the B5109 at Trefor (crossroads), near Holyhead involving a silver Ford Transit van and pedal cycle.

"Sadly the cyclist passed away at the scene," he continued.

“A full investigation is underway and we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote U048417."
