Remember the Giro d’Italia’s spectacular Big Start in Northern Ireland in 2014? Well, June sees the second edition of the official legacy event, the Giro d’Italia Gran Fondo Northern Ireland, and if you sign up by this Friday – that’s tomorrow – your goody bag will include a Castelli jersey worth £70.
Registration for the event, which takes place on Sunday 5 June, will still be open after Friday, but only those entering by this weekend will be entitled to the official jersey for the event, with the design pictured above.
Two distance options are available – the 173km Mourne Route costing £65 and the 58km Strangford Route costing £65 – with both taking place on fully closed roads, and there is also a post-ride party with pizza, pasta and Italian beers and wine.
The itineraries start and finish at Titanic Belfast, where there will also be activities for family and friends on the Saturday and Sunday as well as a Giro Expo and the chance to have your photo taken with the Giro d’Italia trophy.
