Video from kit supplier Santini captures excitement surrounding GreenEdge launch (+ video)

Aussie teams stars and staff speak about what it means to be part of country's first team in cycling's top flight...

Australian outfit GreenEdge made a winning start to their debut year on the WorldTour with Simon Gerrans winning the Santos Tour Down Under on home soil, putting the seal on the excitement generated there by their launch, the subject of a behid-the-scenes video from kit sponsor Santini.

The sport's first top-flight team from the Southern Hemisphere, the core of GreenEdge is unashamedly Australian, bringing together exciting young talent including Cameron Meyer and Luke Durbridge with vastly experienced riders such as Robbie McEwen and Stuart O'Grady.

In the videoi, those riders plus other people linked to the team including general manager Shayne Bannan and sports director Matt White, as well as members of the family that owns the Italian business supplying their jerseys, give their thoughts on what it means to be part of the project.

“We’re just a new, young team that is out to do good things," says O'Grady. "The Australian attitude will hopefully come through and we’ll be out there giving 100% in every race.”
