Missing person appeal: Police seek help in tracing West Sussex cyclist

Family of Aelfred Morris very concerned after he fails to arrive at grandmother's house ...

Sussex Police have issued a missing person appeal in relation to a 27-year-old male cyclist who suffers from depression and has not been seen since setting off from Worthing on his bike to visit his grandmother in Felpham, near Bognor, yesterday.

Aelfred Morris, known as Aelfi, is 6 foot 3 inches tall and described as being of slim build. His disappearance is said by police to be out of character.

Inspector Steve Rayland said: “We and his family are increasingly concerned as Aelfred suffers from depression and has not been out of touch with his family for so long.”

The cyclist set off yesterday on his blue mountain bike to ride from Worthing to Felpham, where his grandmother lives, a distance of around 12 miles.

Aelfred, who has short, dark hair and a beard, was wearing a cream-coloured hooded top and jeans, and was carrying a blue rucksack. He lives in Bognor.

Inspector Rayland continued: "Dedicated search teams and volunteers from the Lowland Search and Rescue Team are searching Eartham Woods near Slindon where Aelfred has recently been.  He also has links to Middleton-on-Sea.”

Anyone who has seen Aelfred or has information regarding his whereabouts should call Sussex Police on 101.
