New community café Roll for the Soul is opening in Bristol on 1 July, and to celebrate (and get people in the loop) they're offering up a big pile of schwag on their facebook page.
The café, workshop and hub is the product of a successful crowdfunding campaign in late 2012, and has also been supported by Bristol City Council. It’s the brainchild of Rob Wall, former project manager at Sustrans. The opening coincides with the fourth edition of Bristol Cycle Festival, for which the café will be operating as the central hub, and obviously it also links in nicely with the start of the Tour de France, which will be screened daily.
"Roll for the Soul combines a café, shop and workshop side by side, so you can get a good feed, a quality cup of coffee, a cold beer or a cider, and get your bike fixed up all at the same time", said Rob Wall, Roll for the Soul’s manager. “It’s been a massive effort to get to this point in a year, from the initial idea to opening the doors. Already the community ideal is embedded in the project: we couldn’t have done it without hundreds of hours of volunteer help, with fitting out the building and so many other things. We really want Bristol’s cycling community to feel ownership of this place, so hopefully that level of involvement will continue and even grow once we’re up and running.”
The café has put together a competition to win some great cycling schwag from a few of its friends: a Boneshaker magazine goodie pack, jerseys from Sustrans and Whackjob, technical tees for both men and women from Trail 42 and a Roll for the Soul organic tee as well. Entry is free so click through to the competition page and get yourself entered. The compo closes July 12, 2013. Good luck!
"Nice to see the manufacturer hanging around in the comments to answer questions". +1.
Can you clarify whether it is self-drive cars that have caused the deaths please? Or should you have written motorists?
