Video: Rapha-Condor JLT at the Tour of Britain Pt 2

The latest video from Muc-Off follows the Rapha-Condor JLT team as they embark on stage 7 of last month’s Tour of Britain, racing from Epsom to Guildford, a stage won by Mark Cavendish on the cobbled high street.

The video reveals that pro cycling isn’t always as glamorous as it might seem, setting up bikes in a London Heathrow hotel car park for example, and also because the Rapha-Condor JLT team don't have the big team buses of the better funded squads like Team Sky. So they have to make do with working out the back of a small van. Big ambitions aren't held back by such issues though.

Kristian House once again gives an interesting insight into life as a pro, and also his role of guiding the younger members of the team, attempting to pass some of his experience, skill and wisdom  Do as I say is the mantra House uses on this stage, demonstrating how to get in a successful break - he got in a long breakaway, caught just 6km out from the finish.

The most revealing part of the film is the chat John Herety has with the team in a hotel bedroom the night before the final stage in London. Talking tactics, John’s years of racing experience are clear to see as he tells them what will and won’t likely work.
