Now a firmly established cycling event on the Essex calendar, The Stansted Flyer Sportive is perfectly placed for easy access from the M11. For 2016 we’ve made some tweaks to the route to make it even better and this sportive will offer up a new experience to new and past participants.
Setting out from the village of Stansted Mountfitchet riders will quickly find themselves in the heart of the beautiful Essex countryside. This county has so many hidden gems to discover and the pretty hamlets and villages never fail to deliver. Thaxted with its impressive church, Finchingfield with its village pond is one of the most photographed in the UK along with Stebbing its colourful high street. And don’t forget the thatch; so many chocolate box cottages to see!
With a choice of three distances The Stansted Flyer has one to suit recreational and serious riders looking for a challenge. The Essex countryside is undulating throughout with some short, sharp climbs and plenty of flat. On the day riders will be supported by our experienced mechanics, medics and moto marshals. Our feed stations are all in village halls where riders can take on fluids and enjoy a flapjack or two!
At the finish riders will be awarded with a well-earned medal and then it’s time to relax with a massage and a hot meal. Why not sign up and enjoy this Essex cycling experience; we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
