How many UK Olympic cyclists have been badly hurt on the roads?

I'm in a couple of general fora where the chatter is currently about Olympic Medals.

One thing I do is drop in occasional comments or a self-declared unusual "photo of the day" to do a bit of quiet advocacy on eg road safety or barriers on footpaths, and seep the topic into concerns of people who would not normally be aware.

An example is below in the first reply, which was about making people think a bit about cycles as everyday transport, and as transport for disabeld people etc and therefore recovery need services. It also ties into my favourite topic of barriers.

Does anyone have a list of UK Olympic or International cyclists who have had serious collisions, which I think would be a good thought provoker?

Thanks

Kate Richardson missed the TDF in 2024 because of an MGIF by an SUV.

Bradley Wiggins: SMIDSY

That 2012 one is reported here:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2012/nov/08/bradley-wiggins-witnesses-...

"A police source said the injuries from the crash were thought to have been very serious at first, but that it appeared the 32-year-old had suffered only a number of broken ribs and cuts and bruises. He was conscious when taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital.

Wiggins was out riding at about 6pm close to his home in Eccleston, near Chorley in Lancashire, when he was hit by a white Vauxhall Astra Envoy which is said to have emerged from a garage forecourt on to a main road, the A5209, next to junction 27 of the M6 near the village of Wrightington."

Got a driver awareness course:

According to a spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary, which had originally said it planned to summon the motorist for careless driving, Ms Burrows “has accepted the driver’s awareness course and as far as we are concerned the situation has been dealt with.”

Trike off to be fixed [🤩]
Very grateful to @ETAservicesltd for their really inclusive cycle breakdown cover. I'm not able to fix punctures or push my trike if there's issues, so having their cover is really reassuring and helps me keep cycling.
