Another award winning night for road.cc!

We scoop the social media prize and our friends over at Singletrack are best website

Hooray! We're just back from the BikeBiz awards and we've got another nice trophy to add to our trophy 'cabinet' (shelf). road.cc won the Best Use of Social Media award for the second year in a row.

Obviously we're sad that we didn't win the gong for best website, which we've won for the last three years, but we're very happy to be handing it over to the lovely people of Singletrack magazine who fully deserve it. So well done to them.

We'll be wanting it back next year of course, so we have plenty planned for the coming year. First up is a site redesign which is imminent, so look out for that and tell us what you think. And let us know what else we can do to improve the site to make it even more useful to all you lovely road.cc readers out there.

We're off to bed now. Hic. Here's the list of winners in full:

I think the fantasy game would make a nice app and the site would be fine if it was responsive.

ps: does this mean you're logo needs updating?

no need for a mobile app, m.road.cc works just fine.

I'd suggest - head-to-head review of some child trailers!

Your link to Singletrack is wrong, it should be http://singletrackworld.com/

Not sure if that was intentional... 3

Well done folks.

What I would say about the redesign is pretty simple (and selfish):

I can read road.cc all day at work, despite nearly every other "forum" being blocked by the company firewall. However you do it, please don't f_ck it up!! 1

This. Dunno why, but often the redesigns have the unintended consequence of getting auto-blocked.

Oh, and really. You didn't actually need to add the 'hic'. I definitely got the gist from the pic. 4 Well done.

why do you need a mobile app when you can read road.cc all day on your work computer? 3 Hell, I even got a second monitor from the IT helpdesk so I could run my cycling websites, Eurosport etc whilst also pretending to be working. Cracking ride by Wiggo yesterday, watched the whole thing 1

Nice one, shame about losing the website title though. I suppose it means you get a "must try harder" sticker this year 41

Hobbled down to local caff yesterday with plan to read road.cc only to find no app and that I had to type www.road.cc into the browser...most inconvenient.

Websites on the whole don't need mobile apps, they just need responsive designs so their layouts adjust for mobile devices.

Plenty knocking about for Drupal (the framework this site is built on). Maybe less so assuming this is Drupal 6, but still a much better prospect than having to develop and maintain mobile apps for iOS and Android.

That's an excellent technical explanation that completely bypasses the irony in my post. 4

Can you please write me detailed instructions on how to get the road.cc homepage on my phone without typing www.road.cc?
