Any day of the year except today - too much wind! I love it still with drizzle; very quiet!
It has to be winter for me! crisp mornings with the roads to your self. Layering up and keeping warm but working hard is great is what it's all about
Spring - you get to look forward to months of fine cycling weather. I'm an eternal optimist.
Autumn, sharp frosty mornings giving way to bright sunny days with the backdrop of ever changing colours.
What more do you need
Spring wins
winter - coming home by moonlight.
when it's dry
My favourite cycling season runs from about January 1st to December 31st.
Autumn, season of mists, mellow fruitfulness and crisp, bright days for long rides.
Spring - days get longer, and so do the rides
Cold clear days in spring. Frost bites your lungs and you can see for miles from the hills. Makes you feel alive again after winter.
Spring cool enough to work hard and not end up dripping wet with perspiration (sweat actually), fat and slow up hills but I get there eventually!!
aarrgghh double post
I'm with the autumn folk the colours, the changing light and the cooler temps. All add to the ride
Winter - when the 30 mph tailwinds artificially boost all my Strava times
Has to be spring when the temperature rises and you start to be on your lighter gear - liberating.
Summer - Hot and sunny.
It's gotta be right now! Great temperature and NO MIDGES!! ( I'm in the Highlands)
Late spring.
Summer. Long evenings means rides after work. Warm and dry for short sleeves and a sun-tan. Thats when the mileage goes up.
Winter can still be fun, wrapped up warm, as long as there is not too much ice around. Don't forget to warm your shoes and over-shoes on the radiator before you go this keeps your feet warmer for longer than you might think!
Early Christmas presents would be good!
Early spring, the sun starts to shine a bit longer, shorts & short sleeves come back out and the winter hibernators haven't made it out onto the roads/trails yet.
My favorite season is Spring, with the warm sun and the occasional winds and rain, mmmm, sooo romantic over a nice hilly landscape ... sort of a renaissance painting, I guess
Summer - early morning, birds singing, dry and quiet country lanes. Magic.
the dry season!
Summmertime and the cycling is easy
Spring; the first warm rides of the year, the clocks going forward and having light into the evenings again! All giving the promise of fantastic riding ahead. Summer really is the best for riding , but also comes with the sadness of many missed riding opportunities in great weather ;-(
Spring, early morning mid week when you should be on the office!
Each day I'm alive I'm thankful. I can ride my bike, and I realise how lucky I am.
