Turning 40 next week, I'd have to say cycling in autumn keeps you feeling young.
Autumn - not so hot, beautiful colours and a little bit more space on already congesting cycle lanes.
Crisp, fresh, ice free, chilly, eye watering, sunny winter mornings.
Spring - As you get the sunshine but not the heat.
A crisp, cold winter day is my favorite time to be out!
I love the autumnal colours at this time of year, but you can't beat the summer for riding. Long, warm, dry days. Sunny rides before and after work. Cultivating killer tan-lines. Riding #1 bike. Racing. Man, I miss summer already!
Spring - Saturday afternoon club runs turn into our own classics and Sunday mornings are my monuments
Summer. Spent a few days at the end of August this year in the south of France, rode through lavender fields, vineyards, valleys and up ventoux. Devine.
All year round is my favourite season,
Winter as I do not have to sweat like a pig!
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
A windy summer …
ooOOOOooo…
A warm autumn day is hard to beat though I live in Yorkshire where all seasons are possible in a day.
Spring...not too hot, not too cold
autumn - you can get some amazing days but the its very easy to get caught in some biblical weather but that a guilty pleasure. makes you stronger!
Spring, when you wonder if it will be too chilly without extra layers, then realise a single top and shorts are perfect.
Boring as it is, it has to be Summer...
Winter.
Spring, the summer is full of other stuff.
A crisp, dry, Autumn. Nothing beats a small country road covered in red and gold fallen leaves.
At least until something under said leaves sees you stood at the side of the road with the tyre levers out....
I ride year-round, but summer has to be my favourite. Long days, no need to pack any extra layers, embarrassing tan lines, cold post-ride beer. Perfick.
I've only started road cycling this year, but I've been a keen xc rider for years. I'm an all year rounder, but I love the crisp, bright and frosty winter days. Summer is nice on the road, but that said, my hill climb intervals session earlier, turned into a 3 and half hours ride in the wind and rain in the dark. As long as the pedals are turning, I'm happy.
Autumn. Obviously...
For me it's spring. It's got a lot - first ride warm enough to go out without bib tights, layers start peeling off, the days are getting gradually longer AND the clocks go forward. Not to hot yet, but eventually you can take some layers off and reveal that favourite jersey that's been hiding away for months!
Late summer, savouring the last of the idyllic weather.
Early Autumn, still sunny but not too hot!
Rather enjoyed my commutes this week in the wet as it's a great feeling when it looks foul but your kit keeps you warm, but you just can't beat long warm summer days riding in short sleeves.
Summer in the UK, just love the extra speed cutting through the air with that little bit more ease.
I love the Brisbane winter, clear cool sunny days and lower sun cancer risk!
Early spring - nice crisp mornings turning into warmer days.
