We have a Vulpine Schwag Grab winner!

Someone's walking off with some top Autumn gear - is it you?...

My word people like the idea of free Vulpine Schwag, over 1200 of you commented in to tell us your favourite cycling season, all bases were covered but early indications are that summer was the winner. And the winner of the Vulpine Harrington Rain Jacket, Cotton Rain Trousers, Long Sleeve Merino Alpine, and Short Sleeve Polo? Well that's…

jimbocrimbo

Who despite what his name might suggest likes cycling in the early autumn best.

Congrats to the winner, who will be getting his fancy clobber soon (well before Chrimbo) and commiserations to the 1,276 of you who lost out. Fret not though we'll have another chance to win some top quality cycling schwag coming your way… Soon.

In the meantime you can console yourself by popping over to  Vulpine to think about what might have been season?

====================================================================

 schwag grab rules apply.

Used to like spring but since a touch of hayfever I prefer autumn and the season of my birth, but the best time for me would be a sunny warm day in early September. Not too hot and not too humid.

Springtime, crisp clear & cold mornings that develop into sunny afternoons for exposing knees and arms for the first time in 5 months or more.

It has to be Spring. Then....everything great about cycling is about to get greater; daylight, warmth, colours of nature, your energy levels and fitness.

Got to be the end of August, beginning of September for me, days are still quite long and the weather holds out, but it's not too hot!

Spring for me - not too hot, but crisp fresh air, filling your lungs, and the miles blowing away the cobwebs from the winter - you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve in the year, and are full of optimism and good intentions.

The best time of year! 1

My favourite season is winter.
Last winter was my first season of road cycling.
I sold my little used all mountain full suspension MTB.
Living in the midlands it was a bit pointless.
So I got a road bike.
Going out in the cold, the dark, the mist and frost all I prayed for was the heat and the sunshine.
Not to mention rain...
Summer quickly arrived.
Was it all I hoped for? Yes.
Well... It was hot. And I HATED it.
Dry was good. Not cleaning the bike every ride was great.
But the heat?
Draining, fatiguing, sweating vileness.
I couldn't wait for the cool and the damp.
Getting wrapped up, feeling the cold bite against your face?
My idea of heaven!
"There isn't bad weather just bad kit".
That's so true.

It's long late riding in the summer nights. Kids in bed and you can still get two hours of riding done. Joy, pure and simple.

Spring mornings. Clear blue skies with a wee nip in the air just to make you alive. Fill those lungs with fresh air.

As long as I'm healthy to ride, I don't care what the season is.. 4

Those cold, clear, crisp winter mornings are a thing of beauty. Wrap up, down a coffee and spend a few hours exploring on the bike. Lovely.

There's nothing more manly and downright exciting than a brutal ride in pouring rain in disgustingly windy conditions.

Love winter.

I love riding in an autumn storm. Not too hot or cold. And there is nothing like a storm force tail wind.

Winter in Sydney is cool but not cold. Perfect weather for riding. Here's a vid I took a couple of years ago of a beautiful winters day riding to work across the Harbour Bridge: http://youtu.be/51Yl2Wh5-dc
