Winter; nothing better than gearing up all warm and smashing the miles. The air is crisp and your nostrils freeze with every breath in. You make the most of every minute of daylight, and when the sun goes down you're left in the cold, dark air with nothing to focus on but the illuminated spot of road from your lights. It makes you crave for lighter and warmer days. And when they finally come round, it's those deep winter, sub zero days that retain the contrast and make every ride even more special.
The "long warm summer days" described above. Spring afternoons and fall mornings. Forget winter.
Spring - the thought of going from full thermals to knee & arm warmers just means summer is that little closer and winter that bit further away!
Winter...
Late spring or late summer/early autumn...
Weather's not too hot, rain's not too cold and there's no ice or snow.
summer or early autumn.
hate rain but hate wind even more
A crisp Autumnal day
The current season, each one has good points and bad but as long as I'm on my bike I'm happy. Sadly I missed riding from May until late September due to being knocked off by a car so I missed the best summer for years! On the bright side it might snow!
Early autumn: just the right temperature to not work up a sweat, and less likely to need the rain gear.
A clear Autumn morning. The most beautiful time of year.
Autumn, love watching the leaves change colour
Autumn, that's when I get to ride in the big mountains!
Autumn, love watching the leaves change colour
Winter in the snow as there is nothing better than passing the cars struggling along as I sail past them commuting on my bike
Easy. Midsummer. Time to get home, put the kids to bed and still have hours of daylight for road or trail
Autumn. Sunny, chilly and before the 'wet arse' season kicks in!
It has to be summer....long days
Autumn. Dry, cool, still enough hours of sunshine and the occasional shower to liven up a ride. Cycling is quite literally no sweat. A gentlemanly game
bright and fresh spring
in the crisp mid winter
a hot summer
Autumn. Beautiful colours. Not too hot. A whole summer of kilometres in my legs. Feeling good. Woop!
autumn
I cycle to work at 5.30am, it's always quiet on the roads no matter the season. The best time of year is in March when it starts getting light in the mornings. Everyone gets on their bike from March, it's the best time of year
Springtime, when the days are getting longer and warmer.
A sunny summer morning before it heats up too much.
summer, the hotter the better. days are longer as well.
I like winter. I work better in the cold
Gotta be springtime. The first day that I go out on the bike and can comfortably wear just a t-shirt.
