Olympians head Cyclevox Speakers’ star-studded Cycle Show line-up

Oh...and Contador will be at the Show too

Olympic gold medallist and sprint-king Jamie Staff will be live on the Cyclevox stand for an exclusive Speaker Signing Session at the Cycle Show this Sunday. The session is set to launch Cyclevox Speakers, a new part of the media and sponsorship consultancy.

And with the announcement that Tour de France winner Alberto Contador will be making a special appearance on the Science in Sport stand (E33) at the show this Friday from 11.30am, the event is set to be the biggest yet.

Staff will appear on Sunday from noon-2pm on the Cyclevox stand (F8a), and will be giving away limited-edition signed Cyclevox Speakers postcards to the first 1000 visitors to the stand – as will all stars at Speakers Signing Sessions.

Kicking off on Friday at 10am is Olympian and GB international Rob Hayles, who was crowned National Road Race Champion in 2008 and currently competes for team Halfords, and he will be followed at noon by British-based Swede Magnus Backstedt.

Then from 3pm round-the-world cyclist Alastair Humphreys, who made a name for himself in long-distance bike rides such as Pakistan to China, and Lands End to John O’Groats , will be signing postcards and copies of his latest book, 10 Lessons from the Road.

Matt Ward of Cyclevox Speakers said: “We are very pleased to have secured the services of these stars. Our aim is to show the consumer, and industry alike, that professional cyclists, both past and present, and everyday heroes such as Alastair, have compelling stories to tell and are indeed true ‘celebrities’.

“Cyclevox Speakers aims to promote these stars, along with all other speakers on our roster, and open up the opportunities for them to engage and motivate corporate business, cycling clubs, award ceremonies and dinners across Europe."

The Cycle Show 2009 takes place from 9-11 October and is open from 10am-6pm on the Friday and Saturday, and from 10am-5pm on the Sunday. Last year’s show attracted more than 20,000 visitors, and other cycling celebrities to look out for are Eddy Merckx, Victoria Pendleton, Nicole Cooke, Rob Hayles, and Ed Clancy.
